How It’s Made: Elvis Leather

Behind The Seams

27 October 2022

Elvis is a water buffalo leather that is vegetable-tanned using chestnut and mimosa extracts to create its very fine and flat grain. The leather is then finished with a touch of wax to give it a unique shine and a soft touch. The end result is a leather that looks like it's been perfectly worn in, with care, for years.

Elvis is part of our bio-based leather program that repurposes waste from clean, natural leather production in order to create biofertilizers. These are used to grow vegetation and agricultural products that, during their life cycle, release oxygen into the atmosphere. The bio-based leather program is therefore a circular economy that is carbon neutral. In addition, the production process of the leather itself only uses energy from renewable sources.

How To Care

Elvis has been developed to stand the test of time and get better with every use. Like all our leathers, it has been tested in a facility to simulate twenty years of wear. Its natural grain and soft wax finishing provide protection while still allowing it to develop our signature patina. Your bag will become more beautiful each time you wear it.

While our products are designed to age beautifully and we celebrate the natural characteristics that come from wear, like the best things in life, a little love goes a long way. We recommend avoiding excessive contact with water, oils, perfumes or cosmetics and exposure to strong heat and humid environments. To clean any marks, simply use a soft and slightly damp cloth.
