Notes From The Road: Métier Dinner in NYC

Extra! Extra!

07 November 2021

‘To host her first event in a while, Métier founder Melissa Morris knew of one thing: she didn't want the meal served in a restaurant. So, she called up furniture designer Anna Karlin to ask if her Lower East Side gallery space was available (it was) and chef Woldy Kusina to whip up a vegan menu. And to help her cohost the dinner, actress Emily Mortimer did the job.’

On Wednesday night friends Melissa Morris and Emily Mortimer co-hosted an intimate dinner at Anna Karlin's Lower East Side studio.

Tasting Notes

Woldy Reyes—our extraordinary chef for the evening—served elegant vegan creations paired with a hand-picked selection of Vivanterre wines. We asked Woldy to share one of the dinner's delectable recipes with us.

Our Guests

To celebrate Melissa’s first trip to New York in quite some time we invited our friends to raise a glass with us.

Studio Spotlight

Our home for the evening became the multi-disciplinary studio of a London-born, New-York based designer Anna Karlin, tucked away behind a reconstructed 1940s storefront in Manhattan's Lower East Side. We caught up with Anna to learn more about her work and her studio.

In Emily’s Bag

Carrying her favourite Roma in Black Atelier Calfskin and Suede, our co-host Emily Mortimer shares what’s in her bag.

‘Tonight, I’m carrying my phone, eyeliner, cigarettes dug up from the bottom of a drawer at home (I have like one a month), keys, eye drops, a credit card. All perfectly organized inside the genius internal pockets, of course.’
