The Inspiration
The navy jacquard in our third collaboration is a classic summer combination that feels fresh for all of the season’s upcoming escapades.
"I always start my design process with a moodboard," says Melissa, "so I created this for Gucci as the starting point for our designs. I wanted to create a mood which reflects our shared love for heritage and luxury craftsmanship with a decidedly modern hand. It is this unique blend that unites both our brands and allowed the collaboration to be so natural.”
The Partnership
The partnership between Métier and Westman Atelier dates back to 2020, when founders Gucci Westman and Melissa Morris came together to work on their first collaboration. Now marking the third collection, the new drop features ultimate cases for traveling with your makeup and skincare in the most organised and efficient manner, offered in a vibrant Navy Jacquard.
“The collaboration between Métier and Westman Atelier is so natural” says Melissa, “we both share the love for heritage and luxury craftsmanship with a decidedly modern hand”.

The Craftsmanship
Crafted by hand by a father and daughter duo in Florence using signature artisanal techniques including hand-painted edges, the cases are created from a double-sided, cotton textile woven in an atelier just outside of Lake Como.
Inspired by the water repelling design of Italian resort umbrellas, the material is then treated with a water and stain-resistant coating that doesn’t interfere with the soft-hand feel of the cotton. In addition, a heat-sealed band at the bottom provides another layer of protection when placed on wet surfaces
